MOSCOW, 18 July 2022. Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM) jointly with National Priorities Autonomous Non-profit Organization presents the findings of a survey devoted to the Russian attitudes towards the implementation of national projects.

There is an upward trend in public awareness. Sixty-one percent of Russians are somewhat aware of the national projects (+2 p.p. over the first half year of 2022). Almost every Russian is aware of at least one national project (97%); 64% are well informed at least about one national project.

On average, 63% of Russians are informed about particular areas (+4 p.p. by December 2021). “Rabota of Russia” employment centers[1] as part of the Demography national project show the highest growth: 70% of Russians are aware of them, which 37 p.p. higher than in December 2021.

Fifty-seven percent of Russians see positive changes due to national projects (+7 p.p. over half a year). The most visible changes in the first half of 2022 are as follows:

  • more online state services (88%);
  • improvements in urban environment (85%);
  • increase in travel offers (81%);
  • construction of social facilities in new residential areas (76%);
  • road repairs (72%).

Russians also say that the government and the authorities have paid more attention to the following areas over a year:

  • development of digital economy (71%);
  • development of domestic tourism (71%);
  • improvements to settlements (60%);
  • support for families with children (59%);
  • road safety and quality (56%).

The data were collected as a result of three nationwide surveys conducted by VCIOM June 20-29 2022 and commissioned by “National Priorities”.  The surveys on various national projects involved 1,600 and 2,000 Russians aged 18 and older. Survey method: telephone interviews using stratified random sample based on a complete list of mobile phone numbers in use in Russia. The data are weighted for socio-demographic characteristics. The margin of error at a 95% confidence level does not exceed 2.5%. In addition to sampling error, minor changes to the wording of questions and different circumstances arising during the fieldwork can introduce bias into the survey.
